UAE Residence Visa for Family Members

As a foreign national in the UAE, you can secure a family visa to bring your dependents with you, whether you're an employer or an employee. This option is not suitable for everyone, as it comes with specific eligibility requirements. Eligibility criteria for obtaining a Family Visa in the UAE: • Must be sponsored by an employer or be employed in the UAE • Male Sponsor meets specific salary criteria of AED 4,000 or AED 3,000 plus accommodation • Female Sponsors must have a minimum monthly salary of AED 10,000 or AED 8,000 plus accommodation. • All family members over 18 must pass a medical fitness test at an approved UAE health center. • You must have a minimum monthly salary of AED 20,000 to sponsor your parents. Who qualifies for sponsorship under a UAE Family Visa? Wife: To sponsor your wife for a UAE visa, you need to provide an attested marriage certificate in Arabic or a certified Arabic translation. Muslim residents can sponsor two wives if they meet the specific conditions established by the ICP. Sons: You can sponsor your son if he is under 18 years old. If he is over 18, you can sponsor him if he is a student up to the age of 21. Daughters: You can sponsor your daughters at any age if they are unmarried. Stepchildren: You can sponsor your stepchildren if you have a written No Objection Certificate from their biological parent. The visa is valid for one year and can be renewed if needed. Parents: If your monthly income is more than AED 19,000, you can sponsor your parents in the UAE, but you must meet the deposit requirements set by the immigration department. Other: A foreign widow or divorced woman can get a residency permit in the UAE without employment if she has a child who is a UAE citizen. In these situations, the oldest child will act as the sponsor. Required Documents • Application form – either online or through a registered typing office • Passport Copies of the family member • Photos of the family member • Medical clearance certificate of the family member above 18 years • Copy of the Sponsor’s employment contract or company contract • Salary certificate from the employer stating the Sponsor’s monthly salary • Attested marriage certificate (Applying for wife) • Registered tenancy contract.
